Expert Podiatry with the Care you Deserve

Kid’s Feet

Kids are always growing and changing – but that doesn’t mean they should be in pain. From injuries playing sports, to growing pains to feet that turn inwards, if you’re worried about your kids’ feet, their development or anything unusual you’ve noticed, our team at South Burnett Podiatry would love to help.

In-Toeing

In-toeing describes the position where the feet are turned inwards to face one another and is often coined as being ‘pigeon-toed’.

Joint Hypermobility Syndrome

This is often coined as being ‘double jointed’ or just very flexible - and all without putting in the months of stretching beforehand!

Knock Knees (Genu Valgum)

‘Knock knees’ describes the positioning of the knees where they turn in towards each other. This means that they’re prone to ‘knocking’ or brushing against each other during walking.

Metatarsus Adductus (Metatarsus Varus)

‘Metatarsus adductus’ describes the shape and structure of the foot that resembles the letter ‘‘C" due to the front half of the foot (toes and midfoot) turning onto the back half of the foot.

Out-Toeing

Out-toeing describes the outwardly turned position of the feet that is coined as ‘duck feet’.

Sever’s Disease (Growing Pains, Kids Heel Pain)

Before you start to worry, rest assured. Sever’s disease is not an actual disease but a painful condition that will resolve. It has often been referred to as ‘growing pains’.

‘W’ Sitting

If you look front on when your little one is sitting and their legs form a ‘W’, this can lead to problems that need to be addressed.
